How this calculator works
- 1The end time is subtracted from the start time to get elapsed minutes.
- 2If the result is zero or negative, 24 hours are added because the shift crossed midnight.
- 3Unpaid break minutes are subtracted, then converted to decimal hours.

Hours = (End − Start, +24h if overnight − Break minutes) ÷ 60
Worked example
